MadejPak carried out a two-phase automation project for the packaging and palletising of cat litter for Certech. Phase one introduced a palletising line with KUKA robots; phase two delivered and integrated Essegi F1000 Synchro packaging machines.
Starting situation
The customer needed to automate two areas: palletising of cat litter packages synchronised with their control system, and subsequently delivery of machines to package the litter into bags.
Challenge
Coupling two parallel lines into a single palletising system. A heavily dusty environment and a highly hygroscopic product making equipment operation difficult. Proper stabilisation of handled packages on the pallet.
Project scope
Phase 1: palletising line with 2 KUKA robots and dedicated MadejPak grippers
Synchronisation with the customer's control system
Phase 2: delivery and commissioning of 2 Essegi F1000 Synchro packaging machines
Connection of machines to the existing palletising system
Implementation results
Full automation of palletising on 2 parallel lines
Stable operation in difficult conditions (dust, hygroscopic product)
Synchronised packaging and palletising system
