How it works and what it delivers
In a line built from several machines, none runs at exactly the same pace and none runs without interruption. The packaging machine has to change a film reel, the labeller a roll, the operator has to correct a format. Without a buffer, every such stop halts everything upstream and downstream.
A product magazine accumulates a reserve between stages and releases it once the next machine accepts product again. The line stops reacting to every short interruption, and real throughput rises without replacing a single machine — purely by changing how product flows.
We size buffer capacity to the rhythm of the specific production: what matters is not maximum storage, but the duration of the typical stop that needs to be covered.
